At The Wandering Owl Letters, behind every envelope is a belief in the magic of learning through curiosity, story, and connection. What began as one mother’s dream has grown into something bigger: a way for families and classrooms to see the world with wonder - one letter at a time.
That dream started with me. If I could do one thing without worrying about time or money, I’d pack up my kids and slow-travel the world, letting them learn from the world itself. I’ve always imagined wandering through history-rich streets, soaking up the stories of each place, and turning that into a living, breathing classroom. It’s something I began to experience in my own way when I studied overseas and fell in love with the past in the winding streets of Rome. I want to give a slice of that magic to my own children - and to yours.
The Wandering Owl Letters were born from that wish. Each letter is like a little passport to another place and time - filled with beautiful illustrations, antique-style journal pages, recipes from far-off regions, fascinating stories, and hands-on activities for kids. It’s my way of making that big dream a little more real, even if we’re just opening an envelope at the kitchen table.
But there’s also a depth of experience behind every page. I’ve spent over 15 years teaching and working in school leadership, designing creative learning experiences and educational initiatives across a wide range of subjects - from Philosophy and History to Entrepreneurship and the Social Sciences. I’ve been recognised as an Apple Distinguished Educator for creative and thoughtful pedagogy, and my time studying peace and conflict studies at Malmö University broadened my global perspective. All of these experiences are woven quietly into every letter I create.
They’re crafted with heart and expertise, so that when your child explores the world through these letters, they’re discovering something created with both love and a teacher’s thoughtful eye.
In short, if I’m creating something I’d love for my own family, I hope it brings that same spark of curiosity and joy to yours.
